December 29th

I did a 10 minute mile today. I never was able to do that in school but today I did it. Maybe I should try for the President's Fitness award now since I never received it when I was in school.


Then I lifted. I told my husband he would probably have to carry our son for us tonite since I would probably be in too much pain to do it myself. In other words I had a darn good workout today.


I went to the Y yesterday too and ran for the first time in a few weeks. I only did 20 minutes since I didn't know how my body would react but it sure felt good.

Went back to the Y today. Felt good. Won't be back again until Monday. Plan to start running again on Monday.

After each of m workouts I write down what I have done on a little calendar and then place it on my bulletin board. This does a few things for me. Keeps track of what I have done, Shows me my accomplishments and how I have gotten stronger, and finally motivates me. The Calender is in my direct view at work and it easily shows me how much I have done or have not done. The above calendar is a typical month. The below calendar is this month. Grrrr.....


The positive note on this post is that for Christmas I gave my husband a membership to the Y. So hopefully that will be added motivation to get me to workout. We both went today.

Last week.

I finally made it to the Y. On Thursday I went to Young Arena and walked. The Y was still closed so I went with one of my bosses to walk over lunch and got a very brisk 40 minute walk in. He and I are very competitive walkers and end up walking quite fast.

Then Friday I actually got back to the Y. I didn't have a full hour work out so I just biked for 30 mins. I went 5.3 miles which was great. Now as long as the weather cooperates and I don't get another cold I will be back to my working out.

On a side note:
My working out has paid off. I officially weigh less than I did when I found out I was pregnant with Henry. Now I have proof of what the power of exercise can do. Just image if I had been more proactive and got to the Y more frequently. :-)

Crazy!

So its been a long long time...
Since my last post I have not worked out...

I have had 2 sick kids, a sick husband, a sick daycare provider, and I too was sick. It made my schedule crazy and sucked everything out of me. I told myself its okay.. I would take some time to get better then this week I would get back into the routine....

Then the snow came......I can't get anywhere and even if I could the Y is closed. I need to figure out an at home workout routine.

Arms and Abs

Today was a resistance training day.

Did some arm work and then a lot of ab work.

Tomorrow will be a day off because I have a noon meeting but then Thursday and Friday will be running days.
